MyoGrad - International Research Training Group for Myology Berlin - Paris

MyoGrad has recently been established between the "Institut de Myologie" in Paris and the "Charité" and "MaxDelbrück Center for Molecular Medicine" in Berlin as the first Research Training Group for Myology.

Clinical and basic research scientists in the field of muscle sciences should be familiar with the relevant diseases. However, in order to understand the upcoming tools for gene therapy, the complex methodology to investigate pathogenic mechanisms inside the muscle cells and the sophisticated techniques to generate disease models teaching in muscle sciences needs to reach beyond clinical myology.

Call for application is open throughout 2010.The next selection round takes place on March 11, 2010 in Berlin.

We seek to attract excellent and highly motivated students who wish to obtain a PhD in the field of muscle-related cell and molecular biology and intend to embark on a scientific career. We also welcome applications from medical doctors with a keen interest in clinical and scientific aspects of muscle diseases.

We offer 18 stipends for PhD or MD-PhD students for three years as well as 5 stipends for MD students for one year each.

The official start of MyoGrad will be April 1, 2010. As the program is new and had to be announced on short notice, students may start with their curriculum between April 1 and July 1, 2010.

We invite you to take a look at the program of our first Part of the MyoGrad Summer School, that will take place in Berlin from June 14th-18th 2010.
